I have learned over the years that all paths to things which are regarded as good are narrow and straight paths. The paths to righteousness, success, happiness, and peace are often ones that may require of us to travel alone cutting out distractions, bad influences, and stumbling blocks. As I travel to the place where the true Dana is located, I know that those I meet on my path will not always be there for the whole journey. Learning to stand alone is the first step to my ulimate destination......

A Promise

Monday is here, and the weekend is nothing more than a memory. Monday Blues set in.....we all have them. We grouch, groan, and complain at the start of a new week. This week let's be different! I challenge all of my beasts in heels to see today as a start of a new beginning, a new hope, and a new discovery. Everyday is a blessing and an assurance that we have at least one more day to create the lives we want and deserve. Create a list of goals to accomplish, activities to pursue, and times to regenerate during the week to keep yourself focused and motivated. Make sure all these things contribute to an ultimate long-term goal. We have been blessed beyond measure! Go forward and create a memorable and productive week! Happy Monday!

Running to Happiness

Everyone that knows me knows that I am a workout queen. I love being fit! Today I was approached by a curious individual who wanted to know what motivates me to stay fit. I replied with a simple answer, "I like being sexy". After the conversation ended, I thought to myself, "It is much more than that". Exercise is my outlet....my solace from the world. It is my time to truly focus on myself and to sort out my thoughts. Many hours of my day are devoted to other people....supervisors, fellow employees, clients, family, companions....you name it! That time I spend in the gym or on that running trail is truly for ME. It is my sanctuary and my therapy. With every pound that my running shoe makes to the pavement, a prayer is going up, a problem is being worked out, or a plan is being made. My mind is clear, and my spirit is revived...............and did I mention that I like being sexy? ;-)

Beast in Heels?

My favorite accessory that I can't live without: a fly pair of heels. Different colors and styles....all at least 3" in height. Heels scream femininity, vixen, sexiness, and talent all at once. I like to refer to myself as a beast in heels. Why? Because my heels are on as I demonstrate my strengths and experiences as a woman. We women are something like superheroes....taking care of home, going to work, raising children, attending events, going to worship, getting an education, maintaining our looks, pleasing our men, fighting adversity, protecting our families, being the source of everyone's comfort......all while decked out in heels! We work, we struggle, we cry, we play, we pray, and we love without a single hair out of place. I salute you all! A Beast in Heels!
